George II Style Carved Walnut Armchair in Leather C1900

Description

An early 20th c Walnut open armchair in the George II style, finely reupholstred in hand dyed Chestnut Leather. The high back with studded finish connecting to superbly carved Eagles head arms, above a leather upholstered stuffover seat, supported on finely carved front cabriole legs with scallop shell knees, above fish scale ornament, terminating in ball and claw feet.

The piece is wonderfully carved throughout and benefits from a mellow aged patina.

Suitable as a living room chair or a stement office piece.
