Mid 19th Century Near Pair of Gillows Upholstered Armchairs

Description

Mid 19th century near pair of Gillows upholstered armchairs; the padded upholstered shaped back having deep buttoning and scroll down arms, above the padded seat having a serpentine front; raised on walnut turned tapering fluted legs and square swept legs to the back; retaining the original brass castors. Both chairs stamped Gillow with serial numbers. Slight difference in proportions of legs and dimensions.

English circa 1840

Very good original condition, strong and sturdy, ready to be upholstered.
