Antique Charles 11 Oak Peg Joined Armchair Lakeland Origin C1676 Wdb5021/1.9

Description

Antique charles 11 oak armchair and dating from around the time of the restoration period of 1670-80. This simple oak chair of lakeland origin has a shaped top rail with hand carved panel and dated 1676 (which we feel is original to the chair). It has a panelled back with carved lozenge to the centre above a pine plank seat with later cushion pad. Beautifully shaped arms with panelled sides and front panel with shaped frieze joining the stile feet.

It is hand and peg joined with a lovely deep mellow colour and patination to the oak.

A very nice restoration period oak armchair

Measures: 52" high X seat height 18" X 24" deep X 27" wide
