Large Paint and Gilt Italian Trumeau Mirror on Plinth

Description

This is an exceptional quality and of grand proportions late 19th century Italian trumeau style mirror, standing on a later added plinth, in its original paint and gilt but also all original mirror panels.

The size of this mirror makes it ideal for a floor standing dressing mirror or hall mirror, with or without the base plinth which looks to have been added later and the mirror itself just stands on this if you would like it. Or, just fixing it to the wall above skirting board level would work well and leave the plinth off.

The condition is good, aged gently so the original paint and gilt has mellowed well. All the original laurel leaf carved garlands and swags are as they should be, also the central oval portrait bust too.

There are ten individual mirror panels and all are in good condition in their lovely mellow mercury tone.

86 1/2 inches or 220 cm high without plinth

96 1/2 inches or 245 cm high including plinth

50 inches or 127cm wide

3 inches for 7.5 cm thick frame

5 inches or 12.5 cm deep plinth
