Walnut Mirror with a Nautical Painted Scene

1900 - 1920
Description

This Walnut Mirror With A Nautical Painted Scene is full of charm and interest. The mirror frame is decorated with a cross grain moulding that also houses the painted scene of a sailing ship. This is then topped off with a Burr Walnut surround with a delicately carved and gilded shell to add further interest.

The Walnut is a lovely mellow hue and has a particularly good patina, as the mirror wears its age with pride, and looks all the better for it. Sure to get plenty of attention wherever placed in the home, and certainly a talking point for guests to admire.
