Wall Hanging Triptych Dressing Mirror

1920 - 1940
Description

A very unusual wall hanging triptych dressing mirror or perhaps hall mirror, dating to around the 1930's and of a very high quality.

The mirrors are encased in simple brass frames and the pale green frame, opening drop handle is also the original brass too. When closed, you have a simple painted frame with the one main mirror section. Opening the first mirror up, there is a vintage embroidered silk panel which also is hinged to give you the lefthand side and the fixed rear mirror.

Interestingly, the rear mirror has a faded silhouette of the wall hanging behind, which suggests this hung in a very light area and was fully open like this for many many years.

I have shown the mirror over a sofa table with a pair of lamps either side so you can see the mirrors can be used with something below!

This would make a great hall mirror, but also as a bedroom dressing mirror or dressing table mirror.

It is heavy with all these mirrors, so will need a good sturdy wall to hang on.

Measuring:

When closed

50 1/4 inches or 127.5 cm high

3 1/2 inches or 77.5 cm wide
