Fabulous 18th Century Antique West Country Windsor Chair in Paint

A fine example of a English Georgian large scale and comfortable antique country Windsor armchair that is in very good, strong condition with no breaks or replacements parts. Dates from 1780, beautifully made in elm, this West Country antique armchair has a wide, shaped seat on well turned front legs that are joined by a H stretcher. The shapely arms have lovely curved cleft front arm supports and the chair has a simple, strong spindle hoop back rest. In amazing condition, a fabulous example in green paint, very similar to a chair in The English Regional Chair book by Bernard Cotton, page 273.
