Chair Very Rare George III Cart Wheel Back Windsor Armchair C1790

Here we have an extremely rare and outstanding George III cart wheel back Windsor armchair c1790. As you can see the chair has exceptional colour and patina. One could run out of superlatives for this rarest of chairs. We have only seen and sold one other of these chairs in 15 years. There is an Ash hooped top rail with beautiful turned spindles and a turned hub to form the cart wheel back. There are shaped arms with scrolled ends and shaped supports. The seat is generous and saddle shaped with through joints from the legs below. There are turned front legs and tapered rear legs which are joined by a well shaped H stretcher. The chair has traces of the old stain and paint. A super chair and a collectors dream in super retail condition ready to use daily. The dimensions are approx 88 cm high 50 cm wide 50 cm deep.
