This really is an exceptional 19th century gilt mirror, fantastically decorative and stunning!For the large mirror, the shape of this and the style of frame give it some elegance, along with the open fret cartouche and the lattice and garlands draped over the mirror plate too.The frame is well detailed with lots of floral and leaf motif mouldings, but also has a pair of mythical dragons each supporting a bracket shelf on the top edge, perhaps for displaying a pair of candelabras. A further pair of smaller bracket shelves are on the lower section of the frame too.The condition of the mirror is good, but it has been over gilded at some point in its life, although that has been done well so the gilt tones and finish are good.
