Tom Scott Antiques has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The lime wood gives very crisp and detailed carving and also polishes well too.

The mirror is to be hung "landscape" as shown as there is a carved torch frame to the top and a fabulous carved serpent to the lower frame centre.
The mercury mirror plate has a lovely foxed finish to it, but none of it is dark or black foxing. You can see the foxing in the photographs and in my opinion, it looks great and enhances the mirror.

There is a secure hanging chain fitted, so it will just require a secure screw fitting on your wall, or you may prefer to hang it with a pair of mirror plates.
