Pair of George III Hepplewhite Mahogany Chairs

Description

Circa 1780, quality pair of George III Hepplewhite mahogany chairs. The curved cresting rails with small carved flowerheads to the sides, and a carved and pierced splat with a Prince of Wales plume, supported by 2 foliate carved sections. The frame with reeding to all fore-edges, and with a large stuff over seat held in place with close brass studding (to the front). Supported on slightly outswept back legs and reeded, tapering front legs, intersected by conforming stretchers.
