Description:
This is a stunning quality English antique Georgian Regency solid mahogany rope twist top rail dining chair, circa 1820, with a newly upholstered seat, in excellent condition. This sturdy chair is designed with an attractive rope twist and reeded top rail, secured by scroll end supports, above a finely shaped pierced centre rail. The chair features a drop-in seat, which has been professionally upholstered in new top-quality taupe colour structured light grey herringbone material and matching braiding, finished with traditional hessian backing to the underside. The seat frame is raised on turned legs. This chair boasts the original polish; therefore, it has a fantastic depth of colour and patination, displaying a lovely rich red and brown colour.
Condition Report:
This is a stunning quality English antique Georgian Regency solid mahogany rope twist top rail dining chair, circa 1820, with a newly upholstered seat, in excellent condition. This chair is in excellent condition considering its age. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair, but nothing significant considering its age. The chair frame has been checked any loose joints have been glued. The chair has been cleaned and French polished in our workshop by hand, to a professional standard, therefore, it has a fantastic colour and patination. The drop-in seat has been newly upholstered to a professional standard. The upholstery is therefore clean and free from wear and marks. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can recover the seat in a fabric of your choice. If you would like the seat recovered, please contact us for a quote.
