Exceptional C19th Mahogany Leather Library Armchair

19th century
Description

Exceptional C19th French Regency mahogany leather library armchair; of major gravitas having strong and generous proportions; the curved padded back having a moulded edge frame with swept arms having wide arm rests with scrolled edges and carved with anthemion and acanthus leaves; leading to the very large stylish circular terminals with carved flower head paterae to the sides with carved trailing acanthus leaves. The generous padded seat flanked by gadrooned moulded panels raised on shaped legs with carved lion paw feet; with turned shaped legs to the rear. Recently upholstered in good quality light tan leather with brass studding.

Very good condition, of good quality mahogany having good rich colour and patination
