These chairs were purchased around 1910 to furnish a typical "Welsh Farmhouse Kitchen" in Tarvin Lodge, Tarvin, Cheshire. Photographs showing them in situ were used as a family postcards, with one illustrated in "Welsh Furniture 1250-1950: A Cultural History of Craftsmanship and Design", plate 1339. Both photographs are shown here.
