Description

A pair of late 19th century oval wall mirrors with twin branch candle arms. Original plates and backboards. These are fine examples of English water gilt plasterwork. Layers of gesso applied to wood and wire then carefully sculpted before applying gold leaf and burnishing. Tiny losses and chips. One very small mark on one of the mirrors. Overall condition and state of preservation for this type of frame is excellent. C1880
