19th Century Venetian Cut And Etched Mirror

Very beautiful late 19th century cut, etched and bevelled mirror in good original condition with some wonderful light foxing to the original mercury mirror plates.
 
Great mid size mirror, so this will hang as an overmantle, but also as a hall mirror, pier mirror and console mirror. I have shown you an image of it hanging above a French marble top commode to give a sense of proportions.
 
The mirror is made up of the main bevelled centre plate, surrounded by an octagonal pattern of further mirror plates which are all cut and etched, finished with the top and bottom decorative cut plates.
 
As you can see from the detailed photos, this is a good late 19th century mirror rather than a later example. But this does also mean there is a low degree of foxing to the mirror glass which adds to the style of the mirror in my opinion. There is a small graze to the top pediment on the mirror glass which is noticeable only really when hung like this at a low level and with a plain background, so...
