I have shown you an image of it hanging above a French marble top commode to give a sense of proportions.
The mirror is made up of the main bevelled centre plate, surrounded by an octagonal pattern of further mirror plates which are all cut and etched, finished with the top and bottom decorative cut plates.
As you can see from the detailed photos, this is a good late 19th century mirror rather than a later example. But this does also mean there is a low degree of foxing to the mirror glass which adds to the style of the mirror in my opinion. There is a small graze to the top pediment on the mirror glass which is noticeable only really when hung like this at a low level and with a plain background, so once the mirror is hanging in your living room and reflecting, it is well hidden.
Fabulous piece of decor and well proportioned. The mirror can hang with either mirror plates or by chain on a single screw fitting...any queries let me know and I can fit your preferred method to hang.
