Description:
This is a fine antique English Edwardian solid oak office desk armchair, circa 1910, which is in excellent original condition. The desk chair features a comfortable curved bar back, secured by two shaped arms, supported by an elegant vertical fan back. The chair seat is designed with a saddle shaped seat, which makes it more comfortable to sit on. The chair sits on cabriole legs to the front and splayed legs to the rear, united by decorative crinoline “H” designed stretchers, for additional strength. The armchair features a rich oak colour. It has a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
Condition Report:
This is a fine antique English Edwardian solid oak office desk armchair, circa 1910, which is in excellent original condition. The chair has joints have been cleaned and glued, to ensure it is solid in joint. The frame has been French polished, by hand, to a professional standard, therefore the colour and patination is of an excellent standard. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant considering the age of the them. The chair frame is sturdy and it’s extremely comfortable to sit on because of the saddle shaped seat. It is solid in joint and ready to use.
