Description

A very large and imposing French walnut and parcel gilt floor standing mirror dating from around 1860. The mirror has a good cabled walnut and ebonised frame with a stunning gilt crest and central cartouche with the families initials engraved. The mirror plate is ageing nicely, it is the original bevelled mercury plate with sugaring and signs of antique ageing to the glass. It is a great scale measuring 188 cms high by 108 cms wide overall.

Provenance: From an imposing Gentleman’s residence in Durham City.
