M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the 1880s.
. The frame with carved ovolo or ‘egg and dart’ detail , surmounted with a scroll ‘broken arch’ swan-neck pediment with a central carved and gilded ‘spread-eagle’ . The scroll arches with carved foliate attachments .

The base of the frame with shaped corner outline and shaped apron with a carved and gilded central cartouche.
All carving and gilded detail in good original condition, providing an attractive and decorative contrast to the dark polished figured-walnut veneered inner frame . The silvered mirror plate in excellent clean and clear condition , surrounded with a carved and gilded slip edge .

The reverse with panelled backboards .
A high quality mid C18th Georgian period style revival mirror of good scale and proportions , providing excellent period-style decoration and atmosphere.
