Impressive Set of Eight Mid 19th Century Mahogany Dining Chairs

Description

A good set of EIGHT Regency period solid mahogany DINING CHAIRS. The set comprising two open 'carver' armchairs and six single chairs, each attractively decorated with a scroll carved top rail, rosette and leaf central cross-rail above upholstered overstuffed seats and raised on fluted tapering legs.

Although unstamped these were almost certainly made by the famous firm of cabinetmakers Gillows of Lancaster. They are currently upholstered in an attractive dark blue and gold diamond pattern fabric.

A fine quality set of dining chairs.

Date: c.1825-40
