Large French Gilt Overmantle Mirror 159cm

19th century
Description

Really super quality and in lovely condition French late 19th century Louis XVI style gilt overmantle or console table mirror with its original mercury mirror plate also in lovely condition.

The frame has retained a lot of its original gold leaf, so the gilt tone is very good indeed and has a mellow glow which shows off the detailed moulding throughout the frame and finished with the beautiful laurel leaves and wreath to the top.

This mirror will hang well as a stand alone piece, but would make a fabulous hall console mirror and an overmantle mirror.

Very beautiful and decorative mirror in lovely original condition.

I can supply hanging fitting for the mirror if required, or just any advice on hanging it! Do get in touch with any queries.Measuring:

62 1/2 inches or 159 cm high

40 inches are 101.5 cm wide
