It was listed by Marylebone Antiques. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
There are many detailed floral carvings & some cherub type figures on the bases. The gilding is naturally aged & all original. One of the inset mirrors is very aged & the other one, not so much.
I’m not sure of the exact age, but I would say they date from before the 1840’s & could even be from the 1700’s period.
It’s very rare to find a pair of gilt wood mirrors of this age with such fine details & in excellent condition.
