Pair or early C20th mahogany side chairs of C18th George III period design.

Smart Georgian revival copies of important Robert Adam design carved mahogany side or salon chairs with concave circular backs. The multi-splat ‘wheel’ or ‘spiderweb’ type backs with carved central bosses or paterae , with carved raised star flower-head motifs around the rim .

Raised on square tapering fore-legs with moulded and channelled detail onto spade feet , with a block of rectangular leaf carving to the top of the legs . The rear legs of elegant exaggerated splayed form .

The broad and deep seats of serpentine shape and outline , covered in worn fabric which would probably benefit from replacement.

Decorative pair of period style carved mahogany side chairs in excellent original condition with no breaks, damage or repairs.
