A mid 19th century low back Windsor arm chair, yew wood with elm seat. Ring turned legs joined by a crinoline stretcher. Christmas tree model, so called because of the shape of the fretted outline in the flat back-splats. This chair was probably made in Worksop, north Nttinghamshire. The area was renown for making some of the finest Windsor chairs of the 19th century. Solid chair, lovely colour, no splits in the hoop or spring in the arms. C1840
