Antique Charles 11 Carved Elm Yorkshire Armchair with Crown C1660 Wdb155/25.5

Description

Lovely antique charles 11 carved elm yorkshire armchair and dates from the time of the restoration period 1660. It is peg joined and hand carved with the top rail and bottom rails have a carved crown favouring the newly restored king charles 11. It has a split cane backrest and seat which has incised carving to the surround and with curved arms which are carved with acanthus leaves on barley turned supports leading to block and turned legs joined by barley stretchers.

This lovely chair is in very good condition with a lovely deep colour and patination to the elm oozing the charm and character of the restoration period.

Measures: 47" high X seat height 16.5" X 24" deep X 24" wide
