Late 19th Century Ornately Carved Gilt-wood 3-Section Over Mantel Mirror

Description

A good late 19th century ornately carved gilt-framed three-section Over mantel Mirror. Of low height (30 inches) therefore useful (and much sought after) for homes with lower ceilings.

The ornate frame is made up of castellated plinths and round columns to each side, with square pillars either side of the central pane. The entire frame is adorned by scrolls, berries, acanthus leaves and other foliage.

It appears that they are the original plates, although they are not bevelled. There is very little discolouration or pitting.

Dated: c.1860-80

Dimensions: Height: 76cm (30 inches) Width: 164cm (64.5 inches) Depth: 8cm (3.25 inches)
