19th Century Pair Of Mahogany Open Armchairs

A substantial pair of C19th mahogany open armchairs of generous proportions, in patterned horsehair upholstery. The scrolling back, with acanthus carving, leading onto shapely arms terminating in repeating acanthus carving, supported on fluted and turned tapering uprights. The lower back centered with scroll carving. The seat has panelled corners above tapering legs, the legs with repeating fluting and turnings, and brass collars and castors. Circa 1840
