The back also features a foliate carved central horizontal splat with scroll detail. The chairs feature stuff-over seats, which have been newly upholstered to a professional standard in new top-quality taupe colour structured cotton material, finished with matching braiding and traditional hessian backing to the underside. The seat frame is raised on octagonal, ring turned front legs, with sabre legs to the rear. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can recover the seats in a fabric of your choice. The chairs have also been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard, therefore the colour and patination is of an excellent standard.
Condition Report:
These Victorian dining chairs are in excellent condition. This is a true set of chairs (i.e. not matched together from other sets of similar chairs). Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chairs but nothing significant considering the age of them. The chairs feature stuff-over seats, which have been newly upholstered to a professional standard in new top-quality taupe colour structured cotton material, finished with matching braiding and traditional hessian backing to the underside. The upholstery is therefore clean, free from wear and marks. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can recover the seats in a fabric of your choice.
