Description:
Here is a superb quality antique English Victorian mahogany and burgundy red leather revolving desk armchair, circa 1880, which has been newly upholstered, and is in excellent condition. The chair incorporates a curved padded and deep buttoned back, which is secured to padded wrap-around arms, on ring turned vertical supports. The chair has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain burgundy red leather, which has been finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. The overstuffed seat is firm but extremely comfortable to sit on. The underside of the seat has been re-webbed in the traditional manner. The chair stands on splayed mahogany cabriole legs that terminate on replacement English made top quality solid brass & mug castors. The chair has also been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard, therefore the colour and patination is of an excellent standard. The chair rotates 360 degrees, the seat height is fixed and the chair is not designed to recline or be height adjustable. The chair mechanism is original and in good working order, having been cleaned and serviced. The chair is extremely comfortable to sit on.

Condition Report:
This Victorian mahogany office desk chair and mechanism are in excellent working condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mahogany frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair features a rich mahogany colour, having been cleaned and French polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop; therefore the therefore the colour and patination is of an excellent standard. The seat has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain burgundy red leather. Therefore, the leather is in excellent condition, with no signs of wear and tear, damage or holes etc. The chair frame incorporates the traditional brass studwork tacks to the seat perimeter and traditional hessian material to the underside. The original mechanism has been cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the revolving mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of this piece of furniture. The original legs terminate on replacement English made top quality solid brass & mug castors, which are in excellent condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
