Set of 6 early C19th George IV period carved rosewood dining chairs in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster.

Well-carved rosewood framed chairs with original cane-work seats and drop-in framed seat pads ,raised on tapering finely reeded elegant fore-legs terminating with peg feet .

The elaborately carved backs with scrolled carved top rail and classically-inspired stiff-leaf carved lumbar splats . The frames with channeled detail .

The quality and design in the manner of the esteemed cabinet-making firm of Gillows of Lancaster and London.

In excellent original condition with no damage, breaks or repairs. Consistent warm , mellow colour and patina.

The drop-in seats would benefit from recovering. This could be completed to client’s specification at cost price in a fabric of their choice.
