Victorian Velvet Button Back Chair

This is a deep seated chair , manufactured in the later part of the Victorian era circa 1880-1900.

It has low side arms and It is quilted to the back and sides.

It’s hard wood swept legs are all original.

It has three matching castors and one of the period but not original.

The front two castors are matching and the variation is therefore not seen.

I would say this chair is covered in velvet and the map of the velvet does not assist an amateur photographer .... such as I !!

Whilst an antique and original ... the pictures really don’t do justice to the chair ...

If you are any where near to my shop I suggest you take a peek through the window ... and you will get a much better view ...

I suspect it was replaced many many years ago as it has the signs of age and patina not matched if it were a recent replacement .

The turned wood on one leg is damaged and clearly photographed.

The dark green velvet whilst intact with no holes or tears has a few scuff marks commensurate with a loved comfortable chair!
