This nineteenth-century French cabinet plate is formed from porcelain and finished with a royal blue glaze, multi-coloured enamel pigments, and gold leaf. The wide circular border displays rich cobalt blue panels embellished with gilded scrollwork, lattice patterns, and repeating shell motifs. Set within this gilded rim, the central hand-painted scene depicts historical figures in elaborate fifteenth-century dress on horseback alongside tents and hunting hounds. The plate rests flat on a circular base measuring 3 cm high, 25 cm wide, and 25 cm deep. Traditional in style, the display piece suits integration into a French chateau interior scheme or historical porcelain collection. Placed atop a dining room sideboard, display cabinet, or entrance hall console table, the surface introduces classical narrative art and rich metallic accents to a living space. The construction remains free of chips, cracks, and repairs.

A Sevres porcelain cabinet plate is a decorative ceramic dish produced by or executed in the style of the French Sevres manufactory, intended for ornamental display in a cabinet or on a wall rather than for dining.

These items were crafted from hard-paste or soft-paste porcelain, featuring central hand-painted enamel illustrations surrounded by border glazes such as cobalt blue, finished with gilded detailing.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-applied enamel brushwork, precise gilding tooling along the border, and specific factory markings or interlaced initials painted on the underside.

A decorative porcelain plate can be displayed upright on a metal stand atop a console table or arranged in a vertical gallery wall layout using plate hangers.

Clean the surface using a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust, avoiding chemical detergents, abrasive scrubbers, or prolonged exposure to moisture that could lift the surface gilding.
