This is an exceptionally good quality and beautifully proportioned French late 19th century ''Trumeau'' style mirror in its original paint and gilt finish and with its original deep bevelled mercury mirror plate.
Fantastic size for a large overmantle mirror, but hangs very well as shown for example over a console table or sideboard. But it would also work as a standing dressing mirror too.
The original paint is a lovely very pale grey with a slightest hint of olive which contrasts so well with the gilding with much of the original gold leaf.
The original bevelled mirror plate is also in super condition.
