Victorian Rosewood Armchair

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: witchantiques.com

A rare one off and probably a commission piece. The solid rosewood frame has finely carved ball and claw feet, leading up to a carved shoulder and apron. The shepherd''s crook arms have turned, fluted supports whilst the back has a simple rounded frame which is set off with a wonderful tapestry back. The drop-in seat has matching tapestry although it is worn and faded to the front edge. The back panel is of thin silk and has some damage but would be easy to replace without detracting from the chair.
