Description

A good quality mid 19th century tall giltwood and gesso gilded mirror with an impressive and generous crest carved with trailing and scrolled foliage around a vase with a whimsical face of a man with a 'handlebar moustache'.

This impressive mirror is dates to the second half of the nineteenth century and is believed to have remained in the same family since it was made. There are signs of old damage and repairs and several loses of small components as can be seen in the photographs. Because of the extremely elaborate design these are largely only visible on inspection. It however very much look like a well loved and un=restored antique.
