A Set of Ten 19th Century Georgian Style Carved Dining Chairs

Description

Made from mahogany, this long set of chairs consists of two arm and eight singles. They are in the style of late George II/early George III but date circa 1890/1900. They are of good scale, heavy weight and unusually have cabriole legs with shell carving to the knee and claw & ball feet. They are sound in the frame and a very good country house colour. They simply need a good waxing and possibly the top fabric possibly changing (they are as bought from the private vendor). They are an excellent copy of an eighteenth century chair but at a fraction of the cost. The sizes given are for the arms. The width of seat on the singles is 20.5 inches (52cm) are and the seat height is 19 inches (48cm).
