Large French Gilt Landscape Mirror

19th century
Description

Super quality French mid c19th gilt landscape mirror with its original mercury mirror plate.

Lovely proportions to this mirror, so it will work well as a ( hard to find ) landscape overmantle mirror, or perhaps over a sideboard for example. But it would also work as a wall mounted dressing mirror too.

Great details to the rippled frame and corner mounts. The mirror has retained much of its original gold leaf so has a wonderful mellow tone.

The mirror plate does has some light foxing as you can see, but nothing dark and blotchy, but if you would rather a new piece of mirror glass, that can be arranged for you.
