This is an antique serpentine arm chair. An English, mahogany elbow seat, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.
Attractive arm chair with alluring shape
Displays a desirable aged patina — some small marks to upholstery under closer inspection
Select mahogany shows rich caramel hues and fine grain interest
Later upholstery over a traditionally stuffed cushion
An incurved top rail begins the serpentine delights of the chair
Gently cascading arms terminate in broad scroll elbows
Balloon back lower cross rail unites the whole
Professionally reupholstered in a quality ivy green textile
The comfortable seat at a height of 44.5cm (17.5”)
Golden brocade trim provides a contrast border around the lower edge
