Pair Of Early 18th Century Walnut Side Chairs

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Holmes Antiques

A fine pair of early 18th Century Queen Anne Walnut Side Chairs of superb shape and design. The top rails being nicely shaped with curved finish going into the back legs, the delicate carved scrolls to the centre matching those of the ear pieces to the tops of the legs. The foot is the early type being nicely shaped and carved rather than the later turned pad foot. The condition of the chairs is superb, with no replacement parts or patches to the feet. They are a golden honey colour and have not been given the dark varnish that many were, the underneath surface is dry and clean just as we like to see.
