Description:
This is a stunning quality antique English Victorian mahogany & leather swivel office desk armchair circa 1890, which has a newly upholstered chestnut brown leather seat, in excellent working condition.
The chair seat has been newly professionally upholstered in top quality full grain brown deep buttoned leather. The horsehair seat is firm enough that you do not sink into it, but at the same time is very comfortable. The chair rotates 360 degrees. The chair mechanism has been cleaned and serviced and is in good working order. The chair stands on splayed mahogany cabriole legs that terminate on replacement English made solid brass & mug castors. This swivel desk chair is very comfortable to sit on, has a fantastic colour and is in good condition.
Condition Report:
The chair and mechanism are in good working condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair frame has been cleaned and French polished to a professional standard in our workshop. The horsehair chair has been newly upholstered in top quality full grain chestnut brown deep buttoned leather. The revolving mechanism is in good working order, having been stripped down, cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism, but this is perfectly acceptable, in line with the age of the chair, and will be found in all office chairs of this age. The chair stands on solid mahogany legs that terminate on replacement English made solid brass & mug castors. This swivel desk armchair is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
