Unusual Pair of Edwardian Oak Carver Chairs by JAS. Shoolbred

This Unusual Pair of Edwardian Oak Carver Arm Chairs are by the renowned makers JAS. Shoolbred and date from ca. 1900. Each antique chair has a curved back with upright splats and very unusual central carved motif in the nautical design. They have curved shaped arms, stand on splayed back legs, have tapering front legs and a H stretcher for added stability. They still retain their original leather drop in seats and the oak has aged to a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
