A really super quality French ''Restauration'' period gilt mirror in lovely condition, circa 1830.
Some of the base red coat visible through the original gilding.
This is a large mirror, originally would have been hung as an overmantle mirror, but can certainly free hang or perhaps be hung as a console table mirror.
Great quality mirror with very good details to the floral mouldings and rope twist edging.
The condition is good throughout, as you can see, there are areas where the base red tone has come through. The mirror glass itself is original and in great condition, mostly due to the original panelled back which has been very effective in protecting the original mercury mirror plate.
