Pair of Early C19th Regency Period Mahogany Library ,Desk or Office Armchairs.

Description

Pair of early C19th Regency period mahogany library , desk or office armchairs.

Superior quality pair of mahogany armchairs raised on finely turned and reeded forelegs fitted with original brass barrel castors .

The swept scroll arms with applied turned paterae details . The frame with a well-carved classically-referenced design central lumbar bar . The shaped panel carved top-rail with a gadrooned centre and turned paterae detail terminals corresponding to those on the arms .

The padded and upholstered ‘stuff-over’ seats of wide proportions ,which have been opulently re-covered in our workshops in the traditional manner , using a distressed and aged ‘ox-blood’ or red Moroccan leather . The seats trimmed with ‘double-piped’ leather edges with brass stud terminals.

Both armchairs in excellent original condition with no breaks or repairs . Rich original colour and patina, having also been cleaned and waxed in our workshops..

Stylish pair of practical and decorative Regency mahogany armchairs which could be utilised in multiple settings.
