Set of 6 Mahogany Adams Style Dining Chairs

Description

Circa 1890, set of 6 mahogany Adams style dining chairs, consisting of 4 side chairs and 2 armchairs. The stepped backs with a splat design of carved urns, a Prince of Wales plume and acanthus leaves, and shaped arms on tapering uprights. The seats recently recovered in red leather (held in place by close studding) over shaped seat rails and on square, tapering back legs and tapering, slightly outswept front legs on raised toes.
