The back also features a foliate carved curved horizontal splat. The chairs feature stuff-over seats, which have been professionally upholstered in new top-quality taupe colour structured cotton material, finished with matching braiding and traditional hessian backing to the underside. The moulded seat frame is raised on fine quality ring turned & reeded tulip carved front legs, with sabre rear legs to the rear. This set of chairs boasts the original polish; therefore, they have a fantastic depth of colour and patination, displaying a lovely deep rich red and brown colour.
If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can recover the seats in a fabric of your choice. If you would like the seats recovered, we charge £45 per seat.
Condition Report:
These balloon back dining chairs are in excellent overall condition. This is a true set of chairs (i.e. not matched together from other sets of similar chairs). Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frames and legs, but nothing significant considering the age of the chairs. There have been old repairs to the back of two of the six chairs (see photos), but this does not detract from the overall look of the chairs and importantly, does not affect them structurally at all – they are solid in joint. The stuff-over seats have been newly upholstered to a professional standard. The upholstery is therefore clean, free from wear and marks. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can recover the seats in a fabric of your choice. If you would like the seats recovered, please contact us for a quote. The chairs boast the original polish; therefore, they boast a fantastic patination and colour, which cannot be recreated if the chairs were re-polished. The chairs are solid in joint and ready to be used.
