Very beautiful early 19th century French carved giltwood mirror in the Napoleon III style and in lovely condition.
The mirror retains much of its original gold leaf and has a wonderful, mellow gilt tone. The gilding has been able to age gracefully and has been kept clean, so it is on good condition.
The deep bevelled mirror plate is also in very good condition.
This is a very good decorative mirror that can be stood upon a console table or cabinet, but also would have been stood as an overmantle mirror too. However, this mirror will also look fabulous free hanging too.
Super piece and an unusual find of a great proportion.

57” or 145cm high
