Dressing Table Swing Mirror

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Waterfall Antiques

A genuine swing toilet mirror from the Georgian era. This wonderful example from the early 19th century — not one of the more widely-available copies from the early 20th century — consists of an oval frame with shaped supports united by a wavy stretcher. The oval frame retains the most beautiful original glass plate which has a few marks and a smattering of desilvering but is still very much everyday-usable. The tightening nuts to each side work perfectly, enabling the user to easily adjust and keep stable the mirror''s angle. This lovely George III dressing table mirror dates from c.1820.
