One of the best French Louis xvi style painted cheval dressing mirrors I have had the pleasure of handling and certainly of ''chateau'' quality and proportions.
The condition is lovely, the original ivory tone paint has aged beautifully and shows areas of wear, but the frame is absolutely solid and the original deep bevelled mirror plate is in great condition too.
Well carved floral wreath to the top of the mirror frame and supported on turned and fluted pillars with further leaf carvings to the base. Also, nice to see it has retained its original wood castors.
This is a large scale cheval, giving you a full length view and with the tilting of the mirror with the brass fixings, you can angle it to the right position for you.
The rear is panelled and painted, so it can free stand if required.
Great piece of decorative French furniture and certainly an unusual find.
