19th Century Leather Armchair on Brass Castors

19th century
Description

A super quality early Victorian carved rosewood armchair with beautiful vintage tan leather and on its original brass castors. Circa 1840.

This armchair is a wonderful style and certainly a decorative piece with the unusual leather padded back and sweeping arms, meeting the beautifully carved rosewood and scrolling legs, with the back legs being of solid rosewood too.

The vintage tan leather has aged gracefully and the seat is in great condition, very comfortable. Some lovely age marks to the leather, but no tears etc.

The frame of the armchair is solid and shows no signs of previous restoration. It has been cleaned and beeswax polished, as has the leather so that also has a good mellow shine to it.

Very comfortable and would work well as a free standing chair if required.
